The East Lansing Film Festival presents the second annual spring 48/5 Film Competition! Once again, filmmakers from the Mid-Michigan area come together to write, shoot, edit, and premiere an original five-minute production using specified elements given to them at the start of the competition.
Last year’s competition drew an overwhelming twenty-two teams, including amateurs, professionals, students, families, and local film fanatics. Teams fought sleep deprivation, the elements, and their own creative genius to successfully complete their 5-minute short film by the Sunday evening deadline.
This year in honor of the 10th Annual East Lansing Film Festival, this event will be big! We’re pulling out all the stops to bring another weekend of high-octane filmmaking to the community.
The kick-off party starts Friday, February 23 at 5:30pm at Gone Wired Café, 2021 East Michigan Avenue, Lansing, MI (Map this) . Teams are required to pick up the elements by 6pm. Teams who are late will be disqualified.
Completed films must be handed in on Sunday, February 25 by 6pm and not a minute later, at to-be-announced location. The public is welcome to share in the excitement of viewing the finished projects and then stay for an ELFF sponsored Oscar Party! Prizes will be awarded for the top three films as decided by a panel of qualified judges.
